Street Photography Reveals the Candid Coincidences Hiding in Plain Sight

Surprising Street Photos

Photographer Anthimos Ntagkas, aka Daganth, has a penchant for being in the right place at the right time. His portfolio features random people, animals, objects, and advertisements that interact with each other in often humorous ways. In one scene, a giant man appears ready to chow down on a group of tiny people standing in a line on a diving board. Another photo is also reminiscent of food; a woman on the street, wearing a cotton candy-colored jacket, stands at the base of a public sculpture that is the exact same shade of pink as her coat. Their visual fusion essentially turns her into art, too.

Ntagkas’ Instagram showcases photos that, above all, are about finding unexpected juxtapositions in the world at large. They depict people who don’t realize they are creating fleeting works of art. Rather, they are just going about their day. But thanks to Ntagkas’ keen eye and rapid-fire finger on his shutter, we are offered another way to view the world. In his telling, we’re reminded that these creative, magical moments are present in our everyday lives. We just need to have our eyes peeled for them.
